My interest in design has driven me since my first experiences as a young photo journalist for my high school yearbook and newspaper. I found graphic design to be the perfect blend of art, organization, literature and information, and I have devoted myself to the exploration of all facets of communication with an emphasis in graphic design. I am a native of Chico, California, where my alma maters' mascots left cat tracks (Bobcats, Cougars, Panthers, and finally Chico State Wildcats... yes, that's Kindergarten through College). At Chico State, I was involved first involved with the Journalism department, where I earned my stripes as the Photo and On-line Editor during my three semesters with The Orion. I graduated Cum Laude from the College of Communication and Education in May 2001, and have since worked for Quinn Interactive, a small Web design and development studio in Sausalito, CA. There, I have become privy to the ins-and-outs of the business world, while working hard for a small, savvy design firm. |
Though most of my experience has been in design and development for the world wide web, as reflected by this resume, I am no stranger to print. While on-campus, I was involved with editorial layout of CSU, Chico's award-winning student newspaper, The Orion, advertising and poster design for the CSU, Chico Women's Center, brochure work for the Publications Office, recruitment materials and academic planning guides for the Office of Admissions and Records, literary magazine design and production for the English Department, and signage and display for various departments and organizations. | |
